year -- now it’s time to celebrate. Governor
Baldacci and Senator Damon will both be attending, and we expect
them both to make brief remarks.

you to outgoing officers and board members for all their hard work
on behalf of our
industry.

'Connecting Maine: Planning Our
Future'
Public comment
period underway for MaineDOT 20-year
plan
MaineDOT has rolled out its 20-year
plan, and the public comment process has begun. MaineDOT will be
holding 13 public meetings between now and May 30 (see the
schedule below). The MBTA urges all of our members to
participate in the comment process.
Check
out the plan and complete the survey: Details
of the plan and an online survey are available at www.mainedot.gov — this is the first time MaineDOT has used the web to
gather public comment on a plan.
Coming to a cable
station near you: As part of its public outreach
efforts, MaineDOT also has developed a video featuring discussion
of transportation issues with former state economists Laurie
Lachance, president of the Maine Development Foundation, and
Charlie Colgan, professor of Public Policy at the Muskie School.
The video will air on public access cable
stations.
